“Sail the Mediterranean” is number three on the “Top 15 Getaways” in the June/July issue of Heart & Soul magazine. I also wrote the sidebar “Traveling in Pairs” that offers tips for traveling with your girlfriends and staying sane.

Food For Thought

One of the best perks about freelance writing is expanding my knowledge and learning about subjects I might never explore without an assignment letter. My article, “Food For Thought: When it Comes to Organic Choices, Experts Reveal Whether 'Green' Really Means 'Go,'” in the May 2009 issue of Upscale magazine changed the way I eat. Speaking with experts about conventional versus organic foods was an eye-opening experience.

This article was more than just an assignment, it was life-changing for me, and hopefully, for readers, too.

Great Cruises: My Travel Channel Debut

“So let me get this right, you want to film me and my girlfriends as we eat, drink, and shop our way through the Mediterranean then feature us on the Travel Channel?” I asked the casting producer who politely grilled me about my travel history. For some reason she was convinced that me and my girls would make for interesting TV. “Yes,” she responded. So did I.

Last October two of my best girlfriends and I boarded Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas embarking on a two week cruisetour throughout the Mediterranean. Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Cannes, Florence, Venice and Capri are just a few of the fabulous cities we explored with the Travel Channel right there to capture every breathtaking moment.

On March 21, 2009, The Travel Channel aired “Great Cruises: Why Not The Mediterranean?” The hour long show shared a glimpse into the two bliss-filled weeks we spent sailing the magnificent Mediterranean.
